No doubt the most popular sport and team game in the world, played between two teams 11 players each.
The competition takes place on a rectangular grass pitch with dimensions from 100 to 110 m long and from 63 to 74 m wide. On the shorter sides of the pitch there are goals 7.32m wide and 2.44m high.
During the game the ball is put in motion mainly by feet, but players can also use other parts of the body, except hands. The only privileged players in this field are goalkeepers, who can catch the ball with hands within the bounded by lines area by the goal. This team will win, that will get more goals.
The goal scores when the ball with its whole circuit crosses the goal line which is drawn between the goalposts.
In the official matches the game is divided into two halves 45 minutes each, with an extra time or series of penalty kicks when the game has not been resolved in normal time and the competition rules require this.
