Indoor soccer
(Indoor football) - a variety of soccer game played in a hall, usually on the ground made of wood or plastic.
Purpose of the game is the same as in the classic football; one team should stick the ball into a goal more times than the opposing team, using legs and other parts of the body except hands. In case of indoor football the pitch is smaller - 38-42m long and 18 - 22m long.
The goals are 3m wide and 2m long. Each team has 5 players, one of which is the goalkeeper.
The match is divided into two halves lasting 20 minutes each. Indoor football because of the smaller dimensions of the pitch is very popular among the football amateur players who compete in regional leagues, but obviously this sport is also practiced by professionals, there are held the World and European Championship in indoor football as well as the prestigious UEFA Cup.
