Volleyball
Volleyball - One of the most popular team sports in the world in which two teams of 6 players each compete on a rectangular, 6 by 9 meters, court.
The court is divided in half by a net that is either 2,24 m (women’s volleyball) or 2,43 (men’s volleyball) high.
Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's. Each time the ball can be touched up to three times.
Every volleyball game is divided into sets. The winner is the first to win three sets (up to 5 can be played). Each set lasts until one of the teams scores 25 points. In case of a draw, a tie-break is played to produce a winner.
Volleyball is included in the Summer Olympic Games programme.
